Husband
and wife team, David Strange and Nancy Vogl,
are the founders of Cherry Tree Press. When
one of David and Nancy’s grandsons was born,
they searched in vain for an illustrated
children’s storybook featuring motorcycles.
When they couldn’t find one, David said
to Nancy, “Honey, you should just write
one.” Thus, with the publication of Why
Grandpa Rides a Harley, to
the enthusiastic reception of thousands
of Harley riders, their little publishing
company was born.
David is a retired
builder of geodesic dome homes whose passion
is touring the countryside, whether it be
through long stretches of desert, along
the shore, or deep into the Canadian Rockies.
Nancy is a professional
speaker, writer and coauthor of the children’s
book Am I a Color Too?
and Chicken Soup for the Single
Parent’s Soul, from the popular
Chicken Soup for the Soul® series.
Nancy’s great thrill is spending time with
family, especially her grandchildren. She
continues to work on other writing projects,
including a screenplay, and is always dreaming
up something new to pursue.
David and Nancy live in
beautiful northern Michigan, and together
they have ten children and ten grandchildren…with
the expectation of many more little “readers”
to come.
